Busy days ahead...

Updates sprinkled in cuteness!! ha!  Think he knows he's cute and works it?  Oh yeah!
*We'll be hopping this weekend with 3 caterings in 2 days.  Yippee!!  Might we get caught up? :)
*I have new back brakes.  Had to bust out the credit card.  Can't keep putting off things like brakes.  Although, I think I did as long as I could! Dad would NOT be proud!!
*Bubba had his last set of shots this week and at 13 weeks is weighing in at a whopping 24 lbs.!!  Oh dear!
*Looking forward to my Uncle's reception this weekend.  I thought their idea was genius.  They are doing dinner and socializing, then you go into a play, and then party afterwards.  We are skipping the "wild" time after, but there is a little something for everyone I thought.  Should be fun and I know the food will be good! :)
*Prayers for Nala tomorrow.  She goes back to the vet tomorrow for a glucose re-check.  She hasn't had a good week.  Some weeks are normal and some she barely comes out of the closet.  Her kidney levels looked better at the last visit so that was promising.  She turns 16 in a few short weeks!!  Love my fluffy girl!
*That's it.  Pets. Caterings. Grading Papers. Money or lack thereof. ha! That sums up our week!

Back to the Doggies! :)

Things are settling down a bit with Bubba Bear.  I made the mistake of trying to sleep until 5:30 am and getting back on a regular schedule and that caused a few accidents.  But now that I am getting up at 5 am again, all is well on the potty training front. :)  The good news is that I get a few house chores done in the morning now and get to work really early when it's good and quiet!!
He has had two weeks of obedience school and is a star pupil like his sister!!  He can already do "sit", "down" and "come".  I think that's impressive for a 13 week old!!  He also sits for his food and the prayer with his big brother and sister before he eats!!! :)
There are lots of wrestling matches happening around here and when Rex and Stella get tired of it, they jump up on the bed for a rest.  It won't be long before he can jump up there too! ha
I love having two boxers!!! LOVE it!!  I am pretty sure Rex does too!
Stella's crazed "where's the ball?" look:
And, in case you missed it on facebook....the sneak peek from Rex's contest winning photo shoot!!!  He is so handsome!! Can't wait to see the rest!!

Fun Day!

Saturday was the "fun show" at Pleasant Plains, and no matter what Big Bear says, it really is the best horse show to go to.  It's a fundraiser show and relaxed.  They just do fun events like a costume event, a catalog race, and even a panty race (race to the barrel, grab a pair of panties, put them on and race back) and a Dolly Parton race (ride with water balloons in a bra and don't bust them!)!!!  We took Bubba Bear and had a good family day.

Weary?

Tired?  Think about throwing your hands up sometimes and giving up?  I can relate.  Let me give you just a small glimpse into real life around here...a behind the mask scenes look.  Friday is a good example.  We literally live paycheck to paycheck and sometimes it requires dumping the change bucket to make ends meet.  Kevin called Friday afternoon to say, "I don't know how to tell you this so I'm just going to say it.  The checkbook was stolen out of my truck....with the deposit in it."  To keep this real for you, the deposit was going to get us out of the negative and if one certain check cleared, we were in big trouble.  Some of you are shaking your heads in disbelief and some of you know exactly what I am talking about.  We rob Peter to pay Paul so much around here that I don't even think about being in the negative anymore.  Somehow it always works out.  So....after screaming and yelling at Kevin for being so irresponsible.  I mean how many times have I told him this would happen???  He never locks his car and just leaves stuff out for the taking.  He spent two hours at the bank, closing accounts and opening new ones and going through registers.  I spent two hours blood boiling mad and crying because I didn't know how to cover the money that was missing PLUS pay the bills laying on the desk.  After two hours of misery for us both, Kevin is on the way home and the sun is in his eyes, he pulls down the visor and guess what falls out?  Yes!  The checkbook with the deposit!!!  Is this a praise?  Yes!  Did I still want to kill him? Yes!  This is daily life with my husband.  Seriously!  I wish I were kidding!!  But then, he cooks an awesome meal and offers to take me out for ice cream and the next day takes a picture of me with the pup and tells me how beautiful I am.  And, I love him even though he drives me insane! :)  I shared this story to say I know what it is like to be tired and want to give up.  I struggle daily with not letting money worries take over everything.  Just today I thought, "I might as well give up on ever being out of debt."  We cannot seem to get ahead.  We have bills on the desk that need to be paid with no money to pay them and two cars that need to go to the shop. But, I can't let it worry me.  If you can relate, try this with me, every time you catch yourself worrying or thinking about money, pray about it instead.  Hand it over.
Matthew 11:28 Come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.
Matthew 6:34 Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6:26  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

Not sure where this is going...

I thought I'd try to do a little reflecting and take a break from "all things Bubba Bear", so I looked back at 2011 September and infertility was consuming us.  2010 September = infertility.  2009 September = hope to have a child & sadness over the loss of Jax (the greatest dog ever).  2008 September = Leaving Kevin at John 3:16 Ministries.  Well, I could just let myself sit in the pit of "whoa is me" and the cards life has dealt, but I don't really feel like it.  None of us know where our life is heading, but I have to think it's going to get better.  I'll tell you where I am right now:
*Unfortunately, still dealing a little with the fall out of infertility with trying to get my hormones back in line.  (Feel free to insert Poor Kevin here.)  Kevin is dealing with the mood swings the best any man possibly can!! :)
*Back into my Bible Study. (yay!)  Right now, I am doing Beth Moore's study of James.  Love the book of James!!
*Loving/hating (at the same time) having a puppy in the house! ha!
*Enjoying the challenges of a new job.  Never thought I'd say that this summer!!
*Trying my best daily to put my focus on Jesus and family again.  Where it needs to be.  Do I succeed each day?  No, but I'm trying.  A sincere thank you for all the emails, calls, messages, prayers and support through the journey.  The depression has lifted, but feel free to pray about these hormones before somebody gets hurt! Ha!

Tomorrow - back to puppy!  Way more fun than reflecting!  That was a bad idea! :)

Dog School is in Session!!

Bubba Bear started obedience school last night and that means practice every night.  So, everybody gets to freshen up on their obedience (aka maybe Rex will catch on this time around!!!).  Bubba sat EVERY time tonight!!  And, Stella is a lab who aims to please, so she naturally follows any and all commands.  Rex, well, Rex is special.  I put a short video at the bottom so you could truly appreciate the difference in our pups. ha!  After a long day at work, you would think I would be done with school, but time with the pups = relaxing end to the day.  The ice cream I stopped and picked up on the way home may have helped too! :)

Back where it all started...

Saturday I got to go home (to Mom & Dad's) and help take care of the farm animals.  Each time I go home now, it reminds me that it is one of my last trips home.  I am ready for my parents to be moved to the new farm in Beebe, but it is sad to say goodbye to the place I grew up.
Well, Saturday, we took all OUR dogs with us, and Autumn's pup was staying at Mom's because she was at the horse show with my parents, sooooo Bubba got to spend time with two of his brothers and see his momma and daddy!
Brotherly love - Bubba, Leo and Harley
Bubba's daddy - Rufus
Momma (aka Carly) and myself looking on while Bubba gets a much need butt whoopin'!  He had been a devil to Harley earlier, so he totally deserved it!!

And a little momma whoopin...putting him in his place!
I just can't get over how big they are!!!  CrAzY!!  And, I'm still in love with Leo, Mom's dog. :)  Before we left, I took our crew on a run free through the fields walk.  Every dog needs a good free run!!  Rex is a notorious "bolter", but he came back every time I called him.  yay!  See the blurr of Bubba Bear trying to keep up with him?  My sweet Stella would stop and check to see where I was.

Even a day in the country didn't help deal with the Razorback loss on Saturday though. :(

Not everyone loves a puppy...

There were no Schnauzers harmed in the making of this video!!  Promise!!  He is just old and grouchy!!!! Ha!  And, three 12 week old boxer puppies is almost too much for anyone to handle!!  Just a snippet of Bubba Bear's time with his brothers yesterday.  Handful doesn't even begin to describe it!!
*And, yes, his ears are so big that they stay flopped over a lot!!
(the bigger boxer is momma dog, but her babies are almost as big as she is AT 12 WEEKS!!)

Progress!!!

We think Bubba Bear is about 90% potty trained.  The BIGGEST progress is he got up in the middle of the night and went out by himself!!! Woohoo!!!  He was out the doggie door before I got to the end of the hallway!  Yay!  He's pretty much sleeping through the night - usually up around 3 am and then right back to bed and is sleeping with his big brother and sister!!!  So, we are mucho happier around here!!  He still pretty much hates the crate but is improving.  They love him at doggie care and does better there than at home (figures!).  And....we are calling about starting a puppy obedience class with him!!  FUN!!!!

The doggie line-up at bedtime! Before it's all over, Rex is in the same bed with Bubba because they both want the softest bed.  You know that means I'll be buying another one soon! ha
Looking forward to the weekend!!!  Boxer puppy reunion on Saturday!! oh yeah!! I know you can't WAIT for the photos!! LOL!

Afternoon in Pictures

Above was taken August 10th!!! The day Bubba Bear came home to us.  Below is just a month later on September 11th.  Hello!?!  Grow much???

Have you noticed the size of my feet???  And how about my ears???  It's going to be a big head to grow into those ears!!!  Oh wowzer!
Even Nala joined us today.  She has given up on Bubba Bear leaving and has decided to come out from the back of the house!! ha!
I have a glider under a tree along the fence row and that's where we "chill" and I hit Stella's tennis balls from.  She's in the background here "hunting one up".  Bubba is deciding who to go pester next!!!
And, look carefully on the deck...see who is checking to see what the dogs are up to and thinking about coming out...she's coming around to having 3 dogs in the house!!!  Maybe....
And, progress!!  Love my Nala girl, so I am very happy that she is coming around again.  I was worried the stress of #3 might put her over the edge.  She's an old girl, but she's still beautiful!!
Praising Jesus for beautiful weather and peaceful afternoons!  Love my backyard and my furkids!!!

Relaxed!

When Bubba Bear decides to sleep, he PASSES OUT!  And, he sleeps in some funky positions!!!  When we pick him up from doggie care, they always laugh about the way he sleeps! Ha!  This could be why:

I decided this weekend that we would sleep better AT NIGHT if they didn't all sleep ALL DAY!!!  Dad was out of town this weekend, and we all dog piled in the bed all weekend.  It was great! :)  But we were ready for him to come home.

Projects & Pinterest!

Along with my awesome benches (that the kids loved just as much as me!!), I got several other projects done last weekend as well!!  Most from pinterest, but this one was a combo of a sale at Lowe's and a necessity.  I remember all too well the wreck the other two pups caused on my pond when they were younger and still had the ugly electric fence wires up keeping them out.  However, those wires that were no longer attached to power, were no match for Bubba Bear.  So....at Lowe's these panels were on sale for $3.99 a panel and I grabbed 3!!  For $12, I have a little fence that I can step over but that will keep the dogs out of the pond.  And, it's green so when my day lillies are big, you won't even notice it!!!
BUT, right now, there is a space that Bubba can still fit through, so I had to "rig" it up until he's a little bigger!! Of course, he wanted to help!!!

I won't tell you how many times he ran off with the string with me laughing/yelling/chasing him to get it back.  I tell you, his little face just melts me! No matter how bad he is! haha!
Now, a THANK YOU to Pinterest for little things like socks for dry erase board erasers in the classroom!  Hello genius!!!  No more wasting paper towels and tissue!!
And, of course, ideas like little benches for the reading table!!  So much cuter than 6 big ugly chairs!!
And, for cute ideas like this to spruce up a reading center:
And, lastly, for all the homemade coaster ideas.  Although, the coaster using napkins, I am not in love with, BUT, I did get a new idea from it!!  I just need some craft time!! :)
