We Were Liars by Lockhart

7
I don't even know what to say about this book.  It is unique.  It's a short, fast read.  It is intriguing.  It seems too simple at first, but yet you know something is coming.  It's young adult, but I can't recommend to my 5th or 6th graders because it does drop the F bomb a few times.  Just finished it this afternoon and couldn't wait to get to the end to see how it finished.

Summary from goodreads.com:
A beautiful and distinguished family.
A private island.
A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy.
A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive.
A revolution. An accident. A secret.
Lies upon lies.
True love.
The truth.

We Were Liars is a modern, sophisticated suspense novel from National Book Award finalist and Printz Award honoree E. Lockhart.

Read it.
And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE.
